At Steven Hale Watch Restoration, we are continually looking for ways to innovate and improve our operations. We are thrilled to announce a significant step forward in our commitment to sustainability: the installation of 15 powerful 525W solar panels on our workshop roof, perfectly timed for the upcoming summer months!
Our new solar panels are designed to harness the energy provided by the sun, converting it into electricity to power our workshop. But we didn’t stop there. We’ve paired our solar panels with a 13.6kWh battery storage unit. This state-of-the-art system allows us to store excess energy generated during the sunniest parts of the day. Instead of exporting surplus electricity back to the grid, we can save it for later use, ensuring that we maximise the efficiency and benefits of our solar array.
It's also a lot bigger than the batteries we normally install!
While our solar installation won’t make us entirely self-sufficient (we all know how unpredictable the British weather can be!), it’s expected to reduce our reliance on purchased electricity by over 35% annually. This translates into substantial cost savings – several thousand pounds each year.
Admittedly we won’t benefit until we have recouped the installation costs but with uncertainty over energy costs this could be sooner than we think!
The financial benefits are significant, but what excites us even more is the positive environmental impact of our new solar power system. By reducing our dependence on grid electricity, we are cutting down on CO2 emissions associated with our energy consumption. This initiative is a vital part of our broader commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. We believe that every business has a role to play in protecting our planet, and we are proud to be contributing to this global effort.
In addition to our solar panels and battery storage, we have installed an electric vehicle (EV) charging point. This addition is more than just a convenience; it’s part of our strategy to promote sustainable transportation options among our employees. By providing easy access to EV charging, we hope to encourage more team members to consider electric vehicles, further reducing our collective carbon footprint.
The installation of our solar power system marks an exciting new chapter for StevenHale Watch Restoration. We are eager to see the benefits unfold over the coming months and years. This project is just one part of our ongoing journey towards maximising our sustainability and environmental stewardship.
We are constantly exploring new ways to reduce our impact on the planet and contribute positively to our community, so any suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your continued support!
